A section of Avenida Lepanto will be closed to traffic this coming weekend.
The spectacular MOORS & CHRISTIANS fiesta in Xàbia starts this weekend with the official presentation ceremony that kicks off the week-long festivities, an occasion that will result in a number of street closures and detours.
From 8.00am on Friday 12th July, a section of Avenida Lepanto between the CEIP Port de Xàbia roundabout and the Avenida del Furs / Delfines roundabout will be closed to traffic for the assembly of the stage for the presentation the following day and the fiesta music concert on Sunday evening.
As a consequence, from Friday 12th July to Sunday 13th July inclusive, both the bus stops and the taxi rank will be moved to a location in Avenida Augusta between the Avenida del Furs / fountain roundabout and the bridge over the river where there is already a bus stop. Note that during the weekend the buses will not be passing through the port area as normal but will proceed directly to and from the town via Avenida d’Ausiàs March.
Access to the Duanes de Mar and port will be via Avenida Jaime I. On the evening of the presentation, which starts at 9.30pm, there will be further short diversions as instructed by local police officers due to the pyrotechnics located behind the stage.
