Mayoress Rosa Cardona and the councillor for Social Services, Fátima Jarjor, visited the headquarters of the TAPIS in Carrer del Baix this week to learn more about this service which is provided by the town and assists 12 people.

The TAPIS occupational workshop scheme offers various training programmes to help people with chronic mental illness to recover their abilities whilst also introducing them to the new technologies which are so important in the modern world.

The mayoress and councillor checked out the different articles that the TAPIS uses have made, includes cases and bags for schoolchildren, bags of a variety of fabrics with designs sewn by themselves, and various accessories that are for sale and can be purchased through the TAPIS Facebook and Instagram pages.

The staff at TAPIS thanked the mayoress and the councillor for their visit and highlighted the support that they have received from the local community, whether through anonymous donations or through business people who support the scheme’s different training programmes.
