The festivities honouring Mare de Déu de Loreto have entered the final day of celebration, the Día del Loreto, a local bank holiday, and the Mayorales for the 2024 edition have been announced during a special mass in honour of the patron saint of the maritime area of Xàbia.

Next year there will be five pairs who will be the main protagonists for the festivities: Noelia Ahuir Buigues & Eloy Costa Pedrós, Teresa Buigues Ros & José David Bou Sala, Natalia Pérez Barton & Fernando Mas Mas, Leticia Bisquert Buigues & Daniel Pérez Barton, and Laura Femenía Pastor & Antonio Mayans Ferrer.

Meanwhile, preparations have been concluded for the launching of the famous aquatic fireworks and it has been confirmed that sea conditions are perfect for a successful display which will bring two weeks of festivities to an end at half past midnight tonight.

Whilst the Fogueres de Sant Joan opened it up, the celebrations effectively bring an end to the summer season in Xàbia. Next Monday the local schools re-open (although the international education centres have already welcomed back their students) and the town starts to wind down from the hectic couple of months or so of the high season.
