OUR OPPONENTS

CF Sporting de San Fulgencio formed in 2011 and it has played all of its competitive football in the bottom two tiers of regional football in the Comunidad Valenciana.
The club won its first promotion from the third tier, then called the Segunda Regional, in 2012 after finishing its inaugural season in third place in Group 16. It spent three seasons in Group 8 of the Primera Regional before suffering relegation back to the basement tier after finishing second from bottom at the end of the 2014-15 season. A second spot finish at the end of the 2017-18 season won promotion back to the Primera Regional and the club has remained in the second tier ever since, its highest finish being a third place at the end of the 2022-23 season which secured it a place in the new Primera FFCV after regional league reorganisation. Last season, CF Sporting de San Fulgencio finished in 11th spot.
Except for a four week period in November and December in which the club picked up seven points from a possible 12, CF Sporting de San Fulgencio have been lodged in the bottom three for the whole season and, now three points adrift of safety, are now amongst the favourites to suffer relegation at the end of the season. They have won just once in the last ten games – a 3-1 home win over Callosa Deportiva CF – and have failed to score in the past five games whilst conceding 11 goals.
HEAD 2 HEAD
CD Jávea and CF Sporting de San Fulgencio met for the first time on October 27th. Lucas Destefano put the rojiblancos into the lead after 20 minutes and a rout was expected. However, the visitors stood solid and managed to force a share of the spoils on 89 minutes through Josu Astondoa. CD Jávea slipped to 8th spot whilst CF Sporting de San Fulgencio climbed to 14th spot and would continue a five-game unbeaten run to reach the dizzy heights of 12th. Meanwhile, the rojiblancos weathered a rocky patch to lose three out of the next four games before embarking on a terrific run of nine wins in ten to open up a five-point lead at the top of the table.
CF Sport de San Fulgencio’s home form averages just one point a game. They have lost their last two games on their own soil, 0-4 to CD Betis Florida and 0-3 to Villajoyosa CF; their last home win (and indeed their last victory) was at the beginning of February, a 3-1 victory over fellow strugglers Callosa Deportiva CF.
CD Jávea’s away form currently averages 2-1 points a game, the best in the group, and, with six games remaining on the road, that’s an important statistic. The last defeat on the road was in early February when they lost 1-2 at Villajoyosa, their only defeat in the last ten games.
