CF Sporting de San Fulgencio formed in 2011, representing the town of San Fulgencio which is located around 17km directly south of the city of Elx in La Vega Baja. It has played all of its competitive football in the bottom two tiers of regional football in the Comunidad Valenciana.

The club won its first promotion from the third tier, then called the Segunda Regional, in 2012 after finishing its inaugural season in third place in Group 16. It spent three seasons in Group 8 of the Primera Regional before suffering relegation back to the basement tier after finishing second from bottom at the end of the 2014-15 season. A second spot finish at the end of the 2017-18 season won promotion back to the Primera Regional and the club has remained in the second tier ever since, its highest finish being a third place at the end of the 2022-23 season which secured it a place in the new Primera FFCV after regional league reorganisation. Last season, CF Sporting de San Fulgencio finished in 11th spot.

The club currently sit in 15th spot with four points from the first six games and just one win, a 2-1 away win at CD Betis Florida. It has also conceded 16 goals, including a 7-2 thrashing at Villajoyosa CF and a 1-4 reverse at home to Benferri CF.
