Match Preview: CD Betis Florida v CD Jávea
It’s the game of the weekend, two sides that currently boast the best form over the past six games. A real six-pointer.

CD BETIS FLORIDA v CD JÁVEA
Saturday 22nd February 2025, 5.00pm
Campo Municipal Florida Babel · Alicante
OUR OPPONENTS

CD Betis Florida was founded in 1928 by an Andalusian immigrant who has settled in the neighbourhood of La Florida on the western outskirts of the city of Alicante.
In the 1940s, it competed in the Segunda Regional of the Murcian Football Federation but remained outside competitive football in the region for the next few decades as it developed itself as a renowned sports club in the city, particularly known for its handball and basketball teams.
In 2003, its senior football team entered the FFCV Segunda Regional, finishing sixth two seasons in a row before finishing top at the end of the 2006-07 season to win promotion to the Primera Regional. The club finished bottom with just five wins in 30 games and were immediately relegated back to the Segunda Regional.
Champions once again at the end of the 2017-18 season, this time Betis Florida would only head in once direction and topped Group 9 in the Primera Regional at the end of the 2020-21 season to win promotion to the Preferente for the first time. They finished bottom of Group 5 the following season, this time managing just 3 wins in 30 games and suffered relegation back to the Primera Regional. In 2023-24 they were allocated to the Segona FFCV in the regional league re-structuring but returned to the second tier at the first attempt last season, topping Group 7 by a single point from CF Intercity “B”.
CD Betis Florida struggled in the opening half of this season, recording just two wins in the opening ten games (one of which was against CD Jávea, see below) and, by the end of November, the club was languishing in the bottom three, just two points off the very bottom. And then there was a change of form, six wins in the next seven games, which propelled the club from the bottom three to within five points of the top spot and a historic quarter-final spot in La Nostra Copa where they are due to play UE L´Alcúdia
HEAD 2 HEAD
The first meeting between the two clubs was at the end of last September, a game in which CD Betis Florida flipped over the form book and crushed CD Jávea 4-0 in their first home win of the season.
Both clubs fortunes have changed markedly since and they currently boast the best form over the past six games. So this weekend’s game is surely the pick of the round. CD Betis Florida has a season home point average of 1.7, the mean for the whole division, whilst CD Jávea’s away point average for the season is 1.9, the second best in the division behind leaders Mutxamel CF. However, things get a little more interesting when considering recent form: CD Betis Florida’s average points for their past three home games is 3 whilst CD Jávea’s average points for their past three away games is 2.
