At the roundabout, take the fourth exit to follow the CV-904 towards Catral, crossing over the motorway to the next roundabout. Take the first exit towards Catral and at the next roundabout, take the third exit into Calle Libertad. At the next roundabout, take the first exit; the sport complex is on the left and the entrance to the football ground is at the far end. There is plenty of street-parking.

OUR OPPONENTS

Catral-Castrum CF represents the town of Catral in the Vega Baja de Segura, a muncipality of around 8,600 people that is located about 15km south-east of Elx. It is best known for citrus fruits, artichokes, cereals and olive trees.

The club was formed in 1998 as Atlético de Catral CF and it has played much of its football in the bottom two tiers of regional football in the Comunidad Valenciana.

Since 2006, the club has played mainly in the second level, except for one season at the top when it won promotion to the Regional Preferente as champions of Group 9 of the Primera Regional at the end of the 2021-22 season. The following season, the club finished 11th and missed the cut to form the new elite Lliga Comunitat and returned to the second level, renamed the Primera FFCV.

Catral-Castrum CF started off this season well, winning their first three games to top the group ahead of CD Montesinos. However, form fell off rapidly and just one win in the next seven games saw the club sitting just two points off the bottom three by December. And then a six-match unbeaten run produced a resurgence and by early February, the club was back competing in the top-half of the table, just five points behind leaders Mutxamel CF. But just one win in the last four games has curtailed the club’s charge for a stab at promotion and Catral-Castrum CF currently sit in 8th spot.

HEAD 2 HEAD

CD Jávea came out on top in the first ever competitive meeting with Catral-Castrum CF at the Campo d’Esports Municipal, thanks to a late goal from substitute Nico, the rojiblancos first home win of the season which lifted the club into 7th spot.

CD Jávea opened up a two-point lead at the top of the table after a 1-0 home win against CD Montesinos last weekend, the club’s 12th win of the season. Away form is strong, an average of 2.0 points per game over eight games, the best in the group. In the past ten games, CD Jávea have claimed 24 points from a possible 30, the best form alongside CD Betis Florida.

Catral-Castrum CF’s home form averages 1.6 points a game. They have lost their last two games on their own soil, 3-5 to CD Montesinos and 1-3 to CD Betis Florida; their last home win was in mid-January, a stunning 4-0 victory over promotion-chasing Santa Pola CF.
