Loreto Commission celebrates LoretoFest over December “puente” weekend
The initiative aims to be an incentive for the celebration of the patron saint festivities in 2025
It has only been three months since the festivities in honour of the Mare de Déu de Loreto ended and its Fiesta Committee is looking forward to celebrating again with all the residents of Xàbia.
Around the official celebration of the Virgin of Loreto on 10 December, the Committee is once again organising, for the second consecutive year, the LoretoFest, a fun and festive initiative that aims to energise the Duanes de la Mar neighbourhood and raise funds for the activities it carries out throughout the year as well as for the patron saint festivities of 2025.
The event will take place on Friday 6th December and will complement the start of the Christmas festive season, which will officially begin in Xàbia with the two national holidays – Día de la Constitution Española (Dec 6) and Día de la Concepción Inmaculada (dec 8). The commission will also participate in the first Charity Christmas Fair organised by the Xàbia Port business association and which will take place on Saturday 7th December.
On Friday 6th December, Paseo Jaime I will host a day of festivities. From 11.30am, the Fiesta Comissión will open a bar different from the one in its world-famous Baret del Bous a la Mar. This will be for drinks and tapas at reduced prices. There will be music and workshops and games for children from 12.00noon and, from 2.00pm, paella will be offered to anyone who wants it after purchasing a ticket. In the afternoon, from 3.30pm to 7.00pm, there will be live music with the duo Sweet Soulz.
On Tuesday 10th December, the Fiesta Comissión will celebrate the day with the patron saint in a thanksgiving mass that will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the parish of Duanes.
Xàbia Port Charity Christmas Fair
On Saturday 7th December, after the great day of Friday, the Fiesta Commission will be participating in the Charity Christmas Fair that will be held by the association of merchants of Xàbia Port. The event will be on Avenida Jaime I.
As an entity with a marked solidarity character, the Fiesta Comissión will be part of the 22 stalls that participate in the first edition of an event that rounds off a great weekend of activities in Duanes de la Mar. The Comissión will once again install a bar to serve visitors to the fair. In addition, it will exhibit and put on sale a sample of the great library of cultural publications (for children and adults) that it has promoted throughout its history. From midday it will serve paella at popular prices and, from 4.30pm, it will sweeten the great children’s show scheduled by serving a hot chocolate for all the public.
