Local council takes on 36 workers through Social Employment Plan
The new staff have been assigned in various roles, including labourers and concierge duties in public areas.
Xàbia Council has taken 36 workers onto the municipal staffing which have been hired through the 2024 Social Employment Plan. Mayor Rosa Cardona and the councillor responsible for Personnel, Enrique Escrivá, welcomed the new people who have been selected as a result of an assessment of their employment and social status.
The new people will strengthen several municipal departments. Twelve have been assigned as labourers available for various required tasks, six assigned to works, public roads and gardening-forestry, four assigned as cleaning operators, and another 14 assigned to concierge and attendant duties in public areas.
The mayor called on the new workers to “collaborate as much as possible with the rest of the staff” so that the “image of Xàbia is the best [it can be]” and has highlighted that this initiative “is one of the key principles of the local government”.
The councillor thanked the department’s technicians for the work they have done on the Social Employment Plan and called on the new staff to “take advantage of this opportunity because it is good for you and your work will be seen throughout our municipality”.
