CD Jávea has confirmed Lauro Techeira as the new coach of the first team, replacing Manuel Esteban who was dismissed after a run of seven straight defeats.
In a statement, the team wanted to “publicly thank the great effort, work and dedication during these months at the helm of the squad and wish [Esteban] the best of luck for the future“.
Techeira arrives at CD Jávea having started the season at CF Gandia, from where he was dismissed shortly after the start of the current season. During the 2020-21 season, he had guided the team from La Safor from second bottom to fourth spot, seven points from the promotion play-offs. However, after two shock defeats against newly-promoted CF La Font d’Encarròs and unfancied CF Pedreguer, he was dismissed, despite Gandia sitting comfortably in fifth spot.
The Uruguayan has great experience in regional football in the Comunidad Valenciana and was previously with UD Calpe and Pego CF, guiding both clubs to promotion to the Preferente level.
