Last few days to visit the Fogueres 75th anniversary exhibition

Around 3,000 people have already enjoyed the exhibition marking the 75th anniversary of the Fogueres de Sant Joan de Xàbia‘75 años Fogueres, Xàbia 1950-2024’ – at the Centre d’Arts Lambert in Carrer Mayor and now there are only a few days left to do so.

The presentation provides a wonderful review of the past 75 years of these popular festivities in Xàbia, a compilation that includes the history of the fiesta as well as anecdotes, experiences and information that have been unknown were many in a tour of all the important aspects that constitute the celebrations: the fireworks, the fire-jumping, the bonfires, the traditional clothing, the flower crowns – an great collection of the characteristic elements of a fiesta that unites the whole town.

The exhibition also showcases copies of all the fiesta magazines, bar one which was lost in the great flood of 1957, as well as videos screened in the audiovisual room which have been donated to the municipal archive in addition to a documentary with testimonies from Pepe Marzal, Antonio Bisquert, Rosa Torres, Fina Ribes, Teresa Sart, Amparo Cardona and Teresa Ferrer.

The Centre d’Arts Lambert is located in Carrer Major just a minutes’ walk from the Placeta del Convent and is open Tuesday to Friday between 10.00am and 1.00pm then 6.00pm and 9.00pm. The final day of the exhibition is this Friday 5th July.
