La Carnecería Jávea is offering an exceptional evening dedicated to the art of whisky on Wednesday 16th April at 7.00pm, Michael Lawlor, Whisky Magazine G Icon of Whisky. The cost will be 45 euros per person, which includes tapas to enjoy during the evening, and the suggested attire is casual, whisky enthusiast-friendly.
Guests will be able to experience a guided tasting of five distinct whiskies: one blended whisky, two single malts, one single grain and one unique single pot still whiskey from Ireland. They’ll also be able to discuss the terminology, delving into the difference between “whisky” and “whiskey,” and what the spelling reveals about its country of origin.
The evening will dive deep into one of the world’s most famous blended whiskies, breaking it down to its individual components, discussing how each one contributes to the overall flavor profile and how the style has evolved over time.
Guests will also be able to sample one of the world’s most renowned peated Scotch whiskies, discovering the characteristics that make it stand out, and learn about the peat-smoking process. They will also have the unique opportunity to blend their own personal glass of whisky, exploring different flavour notes and creating a blend that suits your palate.
The evening will delve into the “Seven Steps to Heaven,” a guideline for fully appreciating the complexities of whisky, from aroma to finish and tackle the age-old debate over how to enjoy whisky best. Should you drink it neat, or do ice and water enhance the experience? What about soda?
