Javea Players Summer Show: “Sex Sells Tickets”

The popular Javea Players summer show this year is Last Tango in Little Grimley, where their amateur dramatic society has dwindled to just four people and they’re about to be thrown out of their premises. Gordon the Chairman declares that “Sex is the answer!” Gordon is appropriately played by Jávea Players’ Chairman, Alastair Wallace. But how will the locals react to the promise of a sizzling sex comedy? What will be their solution, will they succeed?

Fortunately, Jávea Players has a healthy membership, although ‘new blood’ is always welcome, not just actors, but for a variety of tasks behind the scenes. Can you paint, are you handy with a hammer or a needle, sing, like meeting people whilst serving drinks, showing the audience to their seats?  Please contact the theatre group for details of how to join this very active theatrical group.

The playwright is David Tristam, who has about 30 plays and comedy novels under his belt, Last Tango being one of the most successful short comedies ever produced for the amateur stage.

The show in the Casa de Cultura in Jávea’s historic old town starts at 9.00pm, preceded by a delicious 7-course tapas meal at Bar Imperial at 7.00pm, and plays from 1st to 6th July. Tickets cost €25. Don’t delay in booking your seats! For more details, click here.
