Jávea Players invites you to the magical musical ‘Beauty and the Beast’
Tickets are still available for what promises to be an unforgettable show featuring a talented cast from ten different countries.

The Jávea Players productions of My Fair Lady and Oliver! were warmly applauded so the forthcoming magical musical Beauty and the Beast promises to be unforgettable, the studio’s 180th performance in its 49-year history.
A talented cast from ten different countries will be bringing over 350 years of theatrical experience to the stage at Union Musical in Gata de Gorgos, supported by a live band with two pianos, violin and flute and wonderful songs. There will be imaginative costumes, state-of-the-art lighting and a dynamic set.
Belle and the Beast need no introduction, but who portrays the magical things which also play important roles? Mrs Potts is a warm-hearted, loyal and caring teapot. This suits Rosemary Brown to a T as she encourages newcomers, having been with the Players for many years. She has been involved with theatre for over 30 years and is an accomplished actor. When not on stage, she can usually be found fiddling with a needle – you’ll be able to admire her prowess in that domain in this show: the costumes are amazing.
Zhangirkhan Kassymkanov is from Kazakhstan. He has been interested since High School in different projects related to filmmaking, commercials, and short films. His parents, however, had other ideas and sent him to study Business in the UK, but the corporate world didn’t work out, so he reverted to filmmaking, but more in front of the camera. He liked it so much that he attended an intensive one-year Acting programme at the New York Film Academy. This is his first performance with Jávea Players. He plays Le Fou, the bumbling sidekick of Gaston [who is determined to woo Belle]. The character is optimistic, if not exactly possessing the brightest intellect.
Under the direction of Cherry Cabban and John McDonald, with musical direction by Aileen Lightfoot and choreography by Kate Sutton, Alee Reed and Rachel Gibbons, the show will leave you spellbound!
Bookings can be made online here for the performance at 164-seat theatre in Gata de Gorgos and coach transport will be made available for the performance on Sunday 4th May with pick-up points in Jávea (Interiors, Avenida d’Ausiàs March) and in Moraira (La Senieta, Ctra. Moraira a Calpe).
The Jávea Players Studio’s designated charity for 2025 is CancerCareJávea.
