Gustavo Gastaldi at the helm of Team Tac, overall winner of the Sir Thomas Lipton Trophy

At the weekend, the Club Náutico de Jávea closed the 49th edition of its annual Sailing Week Regatta, the club’s big week, which brought together more than 300 sailors including children’s sailing, surfboards and cruiser class sailors.

On Saturday, the awards ceremony was held, which was attended by the mayoress of Xàbia, Rosa Cardona, who accepted the invitation of the Club Náutico de Jávea, despite being an hour before the presentation of the festivities in honor of the Mare de Déu de Loreto, a presence that the president of the Club, Arturo Miquel, wanted to thank especially in his speech.

The big winner was Gustavo Gastaldi’s ‘Team Tac’, who was the absolute winner of the Sir Thomas Lipton trophy and who also won the Commodore trophy, in the ORC1 category.

The leading teams in the Commodore Trophy were:
ORC 4: ‘Texan’, Alejandro de Liniers Armiñan CN Jávea
ORC 3: ‘Little Nellie’, Alejandro Sánchez CN Jávea
ORC 2: ‘Argo’, Andreas Melia Kluber CN Jávea

In the Sir Thomas Lipton Club trophy, the best teams was ‘Little Nellie’ of Alejandro Sánchez CN Jávea, and in the Regatta event the best in ORC 2 was ‘Lassal’ of Gonzalo Calvo RCN Valencia and in ORC 1 it was ‘Team Tac’ of Gustavo Gastaldi.

In the 3-Cabos Motonáutica trophy, a test for motor boats, which must pass different beacons and require great precision in navigation, Javier Otegui’s ‘Weekend’ boat won.

The Trofeo Espíritu de Tradición went to ‘Jávea III’ of Pilar Azcón and the Owner of the Year award went to José Manuel Momparler Pechuán.

Trofeo Rodolfo Tomás for Optimist and 420

On the weekend of August 19 and 20, the events of the Children’s Sailing Week were held with the Rodolfo Tomás de Optimist and 420 trophies.

The Optimist was attended by sailors from clubs in the Comunidad Valenciana (Club Náutico Altea, Club Náutico El Campello, Club Náutico Santa Pola, Real Club Náutico Calpe, Real Club Náutico Dénia, Club Náutico Oliva, Real Club Náutico Torrevieja, Real Club Náutico Valencia, Club Náutico Dehesa de Campoamor, as well as from Catalonia (Club Nàutic Cambrils, Club Náutic Hospitalet-Vandellós), Murcia (Club Náutico Mar Menor and Real Club Náutico Cartagena) and Club Náutico Marítimo Benalmádena de Málaga.

Award for the youngest Optimist B athlete: Noah López from Real Club Náutico Valencia
Award for the youngest Optimist A athlete: Marc Puig from the Jávea Yacht Club.

In 420 the best were Nando Puig and Kevin Lenis from Club Náutico Jávea, in second position was the couple formed by Miguel Campos and Pablo Moreno (from the Real Club de Regatas de Alicante the first and from the Real Club Náutico de Valencia the second) and the third place went to the locals Lucy Crosbie and Carlota Gómez. In total ten couples participated.

Windsurfing Trophy

The Windsurfing trophy was held on August 21 and 22 with the following results:
