Last Friday evening, the Casa de Cultura hosted the presentation of the MÚSICA A L’ESTIU 2024 festival – the Summer Music Festival – which featured a performance by the renowned classical guitarist Ignacio Rodes.

Rodes delighted the audience with a performance of different musical pieces in which he demonstrated the breadth of sound colours that the classical guitar offers, delighting the audience which included professors of the guitar specialty from different music schools in the Marina Alta as well as Valencia.

The presentation of the music festival was led by the director of the Professional Music Conservatory of Xàbia, Anna Bas and the councillor responsible for Culture, Mavi Pérez (CPJ). Bas stressed that from this year the festival aims to be “more attractive and bring internationally renowned figures that will make Xàbia have a music festival every year with the category it deserves”. She added that each year “the protagonists will be five specialties taught at the Professional Conservatory of Music of Xàbia”.

The director highlighted that they have worked “side by side with the team from the Department of Culture and the local council to make this new project possible” and said that she was “very happy with the result” as well as hopeful that it will have “a very good attendance by residents and the public alike”.

For her part, the councilor for Culture, Mavi Pérez, publicly thanked the “effort and work” of the Conservatory team headed by Anna Bas to “bring this festival forward with a new air”, a festival that began with a performance by Ignacio Rodes.

At the end of the concert, Rodes greeted the team of the Xàbia Professional Conservatory of Music, headed by the director Anna Bas and the classical guitar teacher, Vicent Mut, as well as the mayor, Rosa Cardona, the councilor for Culture, Mavi Pérez and the councilor responsible for Personnel, Enrique Escrivá.
