CD Jávea chalked up their biggest victory since May 2023 to move into 5th spot in the Primera FFCV Group 4 table. Two goals each from Javier Berenguer, making his debut for the club after arriving from CF Jove Español, and Lucas Destefano plus a single strike from Joan Signes, his first for the club, secured a 5-1 victory over struggling Villena CF on a very warm late November midday game.

Mutxamel CF (1-1 at home to CF Intercity ‘B’) and CD El Campello (a 1-0 win away at Benferri CF) are tied at the top of the table with 20 points, whilst a 4-1 home win over Santa Pola CF lifted CD Montesinos into third with 18 points, leapfrogging over their opponents who drop to fourth with 16 points. CD Jávea are two point behind in fifth position.

At the other end of the table, CF Intercity ‘B’ were within seconds of an unlikely win at league leaders Mutxamel CF before the hosts scored the equaliser to force a share of the spoils and remain bottom with five points. Villena CF (7pts) slip to 17th after their bruising encounter in Jávea and have now conceded 16 goals in 5 games away from home. CD Betis Florida remain in the final relegation spot after a 1-1 home draw against CD Almoradí.

TERCERA FFCV – Group 12

The big game in the Marina Alta region at the weekend was the top-of-the-table clash between CF Benitatxell and CF UD Calpe ‘B’. The Benitatxell side is packed full of ex-players of CD Jávea and head coach José Luis Bisquert was coach of the rojiblancos between 2010 and 2015 after many years leading the side on the pitch from midfield. It was an exciting game watch by several hundred fans, many of whom had made the short journey up the valley from Jávea. The home side took the lead from the penalty spot after just four minutes before the visitors smashed home the equaliser on 27 minutes. Three minutes from time, former Jávea striker Rubén Ortolá nodded home a long cross from Javi, another former player, to snatch all three points and open up a bit of breathing space at the top.

CEF El Verger moved into third spot after a 4-2 win over CD Pedreguer, who dropped to 6th, whilst the reserve sides of UD Benidda and FB Teulada-Moraira drew 1-1. Pego CF ‘B’ climbed one spot to 11th after a 2-0 home win over CF UE Finestrat, condemning the visitors to their first home defeat of the season, whilst the game between CF Orba ‘B’ and UD Ondarense was suspended after home player Joanma was knocked unconscious in a heavy tackle and had to be evacuated to hospital; Ondarense were leading 2-0.
