The Xàbia festivities had not been officially present at the Fallas de Valencia for three years. The restrictions imposed to combat the spread of COVID-19 didn’t allow the representatives of the Fogueres de Sant Joan to take part in the Flower Offering to the Mare de Déu dels Desamparats in the historic celebration that took place in September 2021. But this year, finally, the 2019 representatives have been able to fulfill the tradition and bring their flowers to the Virgin in an act that defied rain and bad weather.
Not all of them were able to participate. Personal schedules are difficult to reconcile and more so when so much time has passed, but Inés Doménech and Júlia Badenes (Regines de la Foguera 2019), María Sobrino (First Lady of Honor) and Marina Mosquera (President of the Quintà) took with them the desires of all their fellow representatives and the residents of Xàbia in general.
The Xabiera delegation paraded, once again, with the Falla Norte-Doctor Zamenhoff “El Clavel” commission of the Botànic-La Petxina sector, which brings together 15 different fallas. The order established by Junta Central Fallera decided that this sector will start its offering from 8.45pm, along a new route established by Guillem de Castro, Quart and Caballeros streets (in front of the Palau de la Generalitat) instead of the traditional route that runs along San Vicente Street as the Plaza de la Reina is being remodeled.
