Fogueres 2024 | Popular group Arsènic will be bidding farewell at Xàbia’s “Nit de Rock”

Music is one of the main protagonists of the fiesta programme that the Fogueres Commission and the Department of Fiestas have prepared, with a night of rock music in Valencian, the much-anticipated concert by the popular Spanish group ‘Macaco’, and the tribute to the Spanish rock grooup ‘El Último de la Fila’, all accompanied by sessions with different DJ.

The first of these major music events takes place on Friday 14th June, the ‘Nit de Rock’ which features ‘The Tyets’, ‘Xavi Sarrià’, ‘Arsènic’ and DJ Cate.

The Tyets are a duo from Mataró (Catalunya) – Oriol de Ramón and Xavier Coca – who were awarded four “Enderrock” awards in March for best artist, best urban music album and best song as well as the award from critics for the best artist of the year. Their single “Coti x Coti” was a major hit across Spain. Fusing the trap style with reggaeton, they have been credited with developing the genre of trapetón, a form of Latin trap music and recently became the first Catalan-language group to achieve a million monthly streams on Spotify.

Xavi Sarrià, singer of the group Obrint Pas, published his first solo album in 2017 and two years later in 2019 he won the Ovidi award for best song with the song “Alliberar-nos” and the album “Al País de l’Olivera” with Aitana Carrasco. In 2022 he released “Causa”, his second solo album. Recently he performed with the Colla de Portitxol in a concert at the Palau de les Arts in Valencia.

Arsènic from Xàbia will be celebrate playing their farewell concert. Born in 2017, Arsènic is made up of Sergi Gisbert, Javier Miragall, Alex Moragues, Luis García, Hector Mut, Pere Tent, Juan Vallés and Joan Agulló. The group participated in the Festivern 2020 festival and were also nominated for the Ovidi awards in 2019 in two categories, and their first CD was part of the most valued works in the ‘Tresdeu’ awards. In 2021, they were nominated as “Cancó de l’Estiu” in the contest promoted by Música en Valencià, with established groups such as Zoo, Niuss and la Fúmiga, coming in second place.

Music will continue to be the protagonist in the Fogueres 2024 programme with the great Macaco concert on Friday 21st June and the tribute to El Último de la Fila, which on Thursday 20th June.

The councilor responsible for Fiestas, Mavi Pérez (CPJ), highlighted the high level of the groups participating in the Nit de Rock organized together with the Fogueres Commission, “a night that should also be a recognition of the career of the young musicians of Arsènic” of whom she congratulated for “these years dedicated to his great hobby, music in Valencian”.
