Flower offering kicks off grand finale to the Moors & Christians in Xàbia

The troops of both sides also made a generous of food to support the work of Cáritas.

The offering of flower to Sant Jaume represents the beginning of the grand finale to the Moors & Christians fiesta in Xàbia, the last few days intensifying in colour and noise that will culminate in the grand gala parade of the Filà Capitana BAHARIS on Sunday evening.

The offering to the patron saint of the festivities is also a chance for all the filaes to show their generosity since, in addition to the flowers, they also made a donation of food to support Cáritas de Nuestra Señora de Loreto.

The 13 filaes and municipal fiesta committees, accompanied by musicians, paraded through the main streets of Duanes de la Mar to arrive at the iconic parish church of Loreto, taking turns to make their offering to the patron saint.

The last to arrive was Filà Capitana BAHARIS, led by their captains Txema Bengoa and Amaia Arrausi, and behind them the standard bearers for each side, Lucía Serrano (Filà Mora BAHARIS) and Vanessa Garrido (Filà Cristiana FACINERS), and all of them received great applause.
