Firefighters, supported by airborne assistance, have been fighting a blaze that has broken out on the slopes of the Montgó this afternoon, in a section close to the Ermita del Popúl and the Barranc del Migdía.
112-CV reported on Twitter that two airborne assets have been mobilized to assist with the effort to extinguish the flames.

A friend of javeamigos, who has deployed as part of the ISVH Bomberos volunteer firefighting unit, has told us that the affected zone is “a bit inaccessible” with the airborne units “doing their thing“. He also assured us that “we are slowly getting on top of it” and that there are many firefighters in attendance as the flames head up towards the ‘eye’ of Montgó.
Just before 15:45, he informed us that “it’s under control” and that they have been working on getting a lot of water on the ground to avoid re-ignition through the strong winds which have hampered ground and air assets in the extinguishing efforts.
For many years, you’ve told us how much you love what we’re doing and some of you have even asked for ways to say thanks. For us, there really is nothing easier to show someone how much you appreciate their efforts than buying them a beer (or a wine; or even a coffee) – it’s so simple.
