The federation board of directors has decided to take this decision as a show of solidarity towards all the clubs and municipalities affected by the DANA storm.

The Valencian Football Federation (FFCV) has taken the decision to cancel all football matches that were due to be played in the Comunidad Valenciana this coming weekend (8th-10th November), including CD Jávea’s home game against Villena CF, as a show of solidarity and sensitivity towards all the clubs and municipalities affected by the flood that has devastated the province of Valencia.

In a statement of the FFCV website, the organisation said that:

“At a very complicated historical moment, in which many municipalities have seen entire homes disappear and the number of fatalities has already exceeded 200, football in the Comunidad Valenciana has the obligation to show that it is equal to the pain suffered.

“That is why the Federació de Futbol de las Comunitat Valenciana, after meeting its Board of Directors , has decided to postpone the next [weekend of matches] as a show of solidarity and sensitivity towards all the clubs and municipalities affected by the flood that has devastated the province of Valencia.

The FFCV has thus postponed all matches that were due to be played this coming [weekend] in the Comunidad Valenciana (8, 9 and 10 November) in all territorial categories, both in grassroots football and futsal and in amateur football and futsal, as well as the national competitions delegated to the FFCV: Tercera Federación and Liga Nacional Juvenil (football) and Tercera División (futsal).

In addition, the FFCV is also postponing all the events it had scheduled until 2025: Coach’s Day and FFCV Gala.

The football and futsal teams of the Comunidad Valenciana are extremely grateful for the massive displays of affection that have been shown throughout the country as a result of the disaster suffered.

The FFCV also wishes to highlight the generosity of the clubs in the Comunidad Valenciana that have not been affected and have contacted the FFCV to be able to send their help in any way possible.

This solidarity will be necessary. The FFCV is already working on a recovery plan, in coordination with the RFEF, to try to turn football into a useful tool to give back some hope to clubs, coaches, referees and players who are suffering from this misfortune.
