The ‘Dona i Esport’ project of the Department of Sports of Xàbia has been chosen by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) to benefit from one of the subsidies to promote sports initiatives that help the reduction of inequality.
The aid, worth 1,866.69 euros, has been approved within this line linked to the 2030 Agenda and whose priority objective is the promotion of physical activity and sports, focusing mainly on groups such as women and girls, people with disabilities, vulnerable groups or groups at risk of exclusion or any other group in a situation of economic and/or social inequality.
‘Dona i Esport’ is an initiative launched by the sports councillor Alberto Tur in 2021 to give visibility to female athletes from Xàbia in disciplines generally led by men. In addition to filling the advertising displays across the municipality with the faces of local sports women, a season of conferences, seminars and sports activities was organized.
