ELECTIONS 28M: Mayor Rosa Cardona announces her cabinet to manage Xàbia for the next four years
The new mayor assures that the policy of the new government is to “work, work and work” for the people of Xàbia.

Mayor Rosa Cardona’s first task since becoming the first female leader of the council in Xàbia has been to set up her cabinet, distributing the responsibilities to the eleven councillors who came together to form the PP-CPJ-VOX coalition to take control of the town hall.
Cardona said that the policy that the new government of Xàbia to develop focuses on “work, work and work” and has stressed that “we are a government that from honesty will always watch over the interest of all the residents”, adding that the three parties “have agreed on the best professional profiles for each of the delegations” in such a way that “the impulse that theCouncil needs can be given” and that it can be visible to all residents.
As part of the deal to support PP, Mavi Perez, head of Ciudadanos por Jávea – CPJ, will not only take on the responsibility for culture, fiestas, and education in the town but has also been handed the role of Deputy Mayor. The other CPJ councillor, Juan Ortolá, has been handed the familiar roles of public safety, emergencies and security, amongst other roles, responsibilities he has overseen in past years.
Similarly, José Marcos Pons, the Vox councillor, has been rewarded for his support by being named as Second Deputy Mayor whilst also taking on the responsibility for tourism, a role he has held before as a councillor in Xàbia, and the integrated water cycle.
The responsibilities are:
Teresa Legay (PP): Treasury and Contraction. Town Hall Representative for the Arenal. Fifth Deputy Mayor.
Enrique Escrivá (PP): Spokesperson, Personnel, Heritage, Affordable Housing, Transparency and Citizen Participation. Third Deputy Mayor.
Juan Luis Cardona (PP): Economic Stimulation, Markets, Fairs, Economic Activities, Environment and Ecological Transition. Town Hall Representative for the Historic Centre.
Toni Molina (PP): Sports, Digitalization and New Technologies, Resident Relations and Internal Procedures. Town Hall Representatives for Freginal and the urbanisations.
Pere Joan (PP): Town Planning and Urban Agenda.
Fátima Jarjor (PP): Social Services, Youth, Childhood, Equality, Third Age, Health, Animal Welfare. Town Hall Representative for La Plana.
Juanjo García (PP): Services. Town Hall Representatives for Aduanas (Port). Seventh Deputy Mayor.
Mavi Pérez (CPJ): Deputy Mayor. Culture, Fiestas, Education. Town Hall Representative for Thiviers.
Juan Ortolá (CPJ): Public Safety, Security, Emergencies, Movement, Beaches and Coves, Signage and Road Painting. Fourth Deputy Mayor.
José Marcos Pons (Vox): Tourism and Integrated Water Cycle. Second Deputy Mayor.
Pere Sapena (PP): Sixth Deputy Mayor.
