Culture delays Xàbia Jazz ticket reservation until mid-July

The delay is “in order to establish the criteria in terms of security and capacity in force at the time of the reservations”.

It has been reported that Xàbia Council has decided to delay the opening of the ticket reservation system for Xàbia Jazz 2021 until the middle of July “in order to establish the criteria in terms of security and capacity in force at the time of the reservations”.

This year, the Department of Culture has chosen to offer ticket sales – which are free – through a booking system on the municipal website. The system was supposed to go live today July 1st but has now been delayed until the middle of this month.

In previous years, tickets have been purchased through tourist offices and a well-known internet ticket sales portal which, although they charge a significant fee for the management, offer a technological platform accessible to all.

Other councils, such as Dénia, have put their ticket booking systems out to public tender for all their events.

Ticket reservation with an archaic system

The implementation of an online ticket reservation system, such as that offered by Dénia, allows you to manage the cancellations and registrations of all those people who request tickets but ultimately cannot attend.

The current archaic system has its limitations: phoning in your request during the morning workday hours with staff from the Department of Culture collecting the data manually. The result is that many events have available spaces that cannot be filled because those people who have wanted to go cannot see them. This system has been in place for more than a year.
