Council reveals details of renovation project for Les Mesquides
The 600,000 euro project will include a new artificial surface, three new padel tennis courts, and a new building with changing rooms, public bathrooms and a small cafeteria.

Xàbia Council has revealed details of the project to improve for the sports complex of Les Mesquides in the port, a renovation that will include the replacement of the artificial grass of the football pitch (which is used by Penya La Marina football school and clubs such as the Aguiles Rugby) as well as developing the area to provide a number of padel tennis courts.
The councillor responsible for Sports, Alberto Tur, explained that the project includes the demolition of the existing building to allow the complex to be reorganised internally, providing a sports area that generate the minimum acoustic impact to the surrounding area, a policy for which the Department of Sports has already commissioned a specific acoustic study.
Three padel tennis courts will be developed closer to the main access to the complex, behind which there will be a new building constructed with changing rooms and toilets, public bathrooms, a coworking space for clubs, a caretaker, a first aid centre and a small cafeteria. In addition, rainwater drainage will be improved and universal accessibility will be guaranteed.
The 600,000 euro project has been designed by Juan de Dios Pérez Botella architecture studio and will be presented to the clubs that use Les Mesquides as a base so that they can discover more about the details, ask any questions and make their own contributions before final approval.
The Department of Sports has been working on this specific project for more than a year, responding to the demands of sports club regarding the renovation and modernization of municipal infrastructure.
