The Department of Finance in Xàbia has activated a direct telephone number to deal with public enquiries on tax matters. Those interested in contacting the Collections office can do so by ringing 966 50 88 61 if they need a question answered or make a prior appointment, a procedure that can also be carried out online via the municipal website.

Councillor Ximo Segarra (Finance) not only revealed this new channel of communication between citizens and his department but also wanted to clarify one of the most frequently asked questions of recent days: the deadline for the voluntary payment of IBI, the property tax.

Back in May, in order to ease the financial pressure on citizens as the COVID-19 health crisis swept across the globe, Xàbia Council decided to extend the voluntary payment period of IBI and IAE until December 3rd. This tax will also be charged later for those who have a direct debit payment arrangement and it will be done on October 1st. (It is usually taken in August).
