Costa Blanca launches national campaign to rediscover province

The provincial council will be meeting airlines, tour operators, travel agencies and associations in a bid to attract the domestic traveller back to the region.

The president of the Alicante Provincial Council, Carlos Mazón, will be attending Madrid’s international tourism fair – FITUR 2021 – to present the Costa Blanca as a tourism destination for the domestic market, inviting visitors from all over Spain to come and rediscover the most iconic corners and landscapes of Alicante as well as its gastronomy, culture, and sports.

From May 19th to May 23rd, the provincial council will be hosting an intense schedule of meetings with airlines, tour operators, travel agencies and associations in a bid to attract the domestic traveller to the region. Mazón, who will be accompanied by director of the Costa Blanca Board, José Mancebo, will be securing promotion strategies and tourism alliances that aims to reactivate one of the sectors that has suffered most from the social, health and economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Costa Blanca has been allocated with an area covering 205 square metres as part of the Comunidad Valenciana stand. All strict security measures and anti-COVID protocols, established by IFEMA, will be observed so many of the presentations will be carried out digitally.

The Provincial Board will have a QR code download option with all the tourist promotion material for 141 municipalities in the Alicante region as well as brochures such as ‘Zero Waste’ in line with the objectives for sustainable developments.

There will also be an area with information touch screens which will allow interaction with the public who will be visiting FITUR whilst, for the first time, about twenty towns in the region will be providing tourist information through the WhatsApp service.
