Compromís per Xàbia has requested that an investigation be opened into Xàbia Council’s contracts with consultancy firm Idom, responsible for providing technical guidance for the drafting of the PGOU, the town’s urban development plan.

The Valencian nationalists have made the request public after revealing in eldario.es that the consultancy firm has been sanctioned by the National Commission for Market Competition for taking part in a national plot to manipulate contracts.

According to the source, 22 firms have been sanctioned which will have to pay a total of 6.3 million euros, most of which is being met by Deloitte (3.99 million euros), Price Water House Coopers (PwC) and then Idom Consulting, which will have to pay 640,000 euros.

Compromís has pointed out that “in the face of irregular practices”, they are calling for “transparency and accountability”, adding that “not a single euro more should go from our town to those who act fraudulently”.
