Companies and self-employed can apply for ‘Paréntesis’ aid from Monday

The 1.5 million euro package aims to support those most affected by the COVID-19 restrictions.

From Monday, companies and the self-employed in Xàbia will be able to apply for aid through the PARÉNTESIS initiative, a 1.5 million euro package jointly financed by the Generalitat Valenciana, the Alicante Provincial Council and the Council to provide support for those affected by the COVID-19 restrictions.

The aid is aimed at the self-employed and companies with a maximum of 10 employees whose annual turnover doesn’t exceed two million euros and fall into one of the sectors highlighted to receive this support (non-active retail businesses, hospitality venues, hotels and other tourist accommodation, cinemas, travel agencies, tour operators, activities related to artistic creation, gyms, amusements parks, amongst others).

The aid is worth 2,000 euros for each self-employed person or company, with an additional 200 euros for each employees with social security affiliation of December 31st 2020.

The application period opens at 9.00am on Monday 1st March and closes at 9.00am on Monday 15th March.

The process will be carried out online at the Council’s virtual office where interested parties can find out more information.

The management of the initiative is the responsibility of the local council which now has a dedicated advisory office at the council offices in Portal del Clot and an appointment can be through the municipal website or by sending an email to recuperemxabia@ajxabia.org.
