Club Náutico Jávea celebrates the 49th Sailing Week

Some 300 sailors will be participating in the regatta which involves not only action on the water but also a lively social side.

Everything is prepared for Club Náutico de Jávea’s 49th Sailing Week, the sporting-social event of the year which kicks off this Saturday 19th August and continues through next week.

Some 300 sailors will be participating in Sailing Week, competing in the Optimist, 420 and windsurfing classes as well as the Sir Thomas Lipton and Federico Gimeno trophies for the cruising classes. In addition, the 2023 edition will include a special 3-Cove trophy for motor boats.

However, Sailing Week is not just a sporting competition but also a time for gatherings and meeting the the club’s facilities in the Port de Xàbia. And one of the most anticipated events is the Paella Contest on Thursday 24th August which brought together more than 30 participants last year, the children’s party with traditional games for the youngest members of the club on Friday 25th August as well as the gala dinner and awards ceremony on Saturday 26th August.

The 49th Sailing Week is sponsored by Living Ceramics whilst it also has the collaboration of Coca Cola, Mahou, Novofrio, Marina Sport, Ginebra Alkemist, Teika and Restaurante A Bordo as well as Toscal Garden Centre which will create a village terrace between 7.00pm and 9.00pm between Thursday 24th August and Saturday 26th August.

In addition, the club can count on the collaboration of several organizations and entities such as Comunitat de l’Esport, l’Esport, Real Federación Española de Motonáutica, Federación de Vela de la Comunitat Valenciana, Asociación de Clubes Náuticos de la Comunitat Valenciana, Xàbia Esports and the Dirección General de Puertos.
