Charity concert raises more than 1,300 euros for Aspanion
Talented young musicians from Xàbia and Gata de Gorgos performed a series of works to raise money for charity.

On Sunday evening, talented young musicians from the Centre Artístic Musical de Xàbia and the Associació Musical CODA de Gata de Gorgos performed a special concert on the Plaza de la Constitución to raise more than 1,300 euros for ASPANION, the association supporting the families of children affected by cancer in the Comunidad Valenciana.
Conducted by Sebastià Roig Sirerol, the young people from Gata de Gorgos performed five popular tunes – ‘Chameleon‘, ‘Oye Cómo Va‘, ‘Moondance‘, ‘Blue Midnight‘ and ‘Harlem Nocturne‘.
Conducted by Miriam Llerena Martín, the youth band of CAM Xàbia played the fiesta pasadoble ‘Miguel Sarió – Miguelet‘, ‘La Vita è Bella‘, Alegria‘ and ‘Best Day of my Life‘.
After the presentation of a cheque for 1,313 euros to association representative Vicenta Torres Catalá, both bands joined together for a rousing performance of ‘Xàbia’ with the usual enthusiastic accompaniment by the audience who then afforded all the talented young musicians and their conductors a well-deserved standing ovation.
