CD Jávea will be looking to consolidate their place in the top three this afternoon in a difficult match against Racing CF Benidorm at the Campo d’Esports Municipal in Xàbia.

After the comfortable win over FC Atletico Benidorm in mid-week, today’s game will prove to be a different prospect against a side who themselves are pushing for the top three spot and a chance of promotion to the revamped national Third Division next season.

But, speaking to XAD, CD Javea head coach Diego Miñana can only still report bad news, with the four injured players – Toti, Javi Hernandez, Javi Bas and Ayoze – still not able to feature whilst Campayo, who made his debut in mid-week, is also unavailable.

This means that Miñana has only 13 senior players available today and he will have to call up several players from the reserve team once again to fill the gaps in his squad: goalkeeper Josep along with Piñero and Vargas, plus one other.

FC Atletico Benidorm will be a difficult opponent. They have an ambitious budget with a clear aim to claim on of the top three spots and win through the play-offs to ascend to the next level. A win for CD Jávea will consolidate their own position in the top three and they will be spurred on by a victory for CF UE Tavernes yesterday which maintained their own drive for the play-offs, joining CFI Alicante at the top of the table. A win for Jávea, a defeat for CFI Alicante, and there will be a three-way tie at the top of the table.
