CD Jávea kick off 2021/22 campaign with away derby game at CE Pedreguer

The Valencian Football Federation (FFCV) has released the fixtures for the 2021/2022 regular season of the Regional Preferente League which starts on the weekend of Saturday 4th/5th 2021 and concludes on the weekend of 14th/15th May 2022.
CD Jávea will be kicking off the campaign with the shortest away trip of the season, a potentially tricky Marina Alta derby at CE Pedreguer, a side which finished 11th last season and one from which the rojiblancos took four points.
Without doubt, the most anticipated clashes will be against CD Dénia. Last season CD Jávea completed a previous double over the arch-rivals from over the hill and finished six points ahead in the table, a satisfying position to (slightly) make up for missing out on the play-offs.
The rojiblancos will be facing some new sides this season, not least the team representing La Font d’En Carròs, a small town of just 3,790 people some 5km west of Oliva, which will be playing at Regional Preferente level for the first time in their history after finishing as champions of Group 7 of the Primer Regional and they have achieved the feat just three years after rising from the bottom rung on the ladder in regional football in the Comunidad Valenciana.
CD Jávea will also be facing phoenix club Ontinyent 1931 CF which emerged from the ashes of Ontinyent CF, a former giant of regional football which had reached the Segunda Division ‘B’ before being forced to fold in 2019 due to crippling debts and bankrupcy.
Other fixtures of note include the third Marina Alta derby against CF UD Calpe on January 9th 2022 (home) and May 15th (away) as well as two away trips to Benidorm to face FC Atletico on September 19th and Racing FC on December 19th.
