Casa de Andalucia de Xàbia celebrates Virgen del Rocio for 2024

The Casa de Andalucía de Xàbia celebrated this weekend the main events of the festivities in honour of the Virgen del Rocío, and presented the new positions for 2024. The Reina del Rocío 2024 will be Nerea Serra Zamora whilst Yolanda Pérez Castelló has been chosen as the Rociera del Año.

Last Wednesday 26th June was the flower offering to the image of the Virgen del Rocio, which was carried in procession by the members of the Casa de Andalusia from their headquarters in Thiviers to the parish church of San Bartolomé in the heart of the historic centre, accompanied by representatives from Fogueres Xàbia, Moros i Cristians and Mare de Déu de Loreto.

On Friday 28th June, there was the presentation of the new positions and the farewell of the previous holders Sandra Juan and Carmen Alicia Romero before an entertaining performance by singer Cordoban Marisol Delgado.

On Saturday 29th June, the Casa de Andalucía celebrated the Rocío mass before carrying the image back to the association’s headquarters. Finally, on Sunday 30th June, the traditional pilgrimage was celebrated through the streets of Xàbia with horses, carts, and music which concluded with a paella lunch at the Riurau d’Arnauda.
