The Arts Society Marina Alta (TASMA) invites you to Andrew Prince’s enthralling lecture on the Art, Architecture and Jewels collected by Catherine the Great of Russia

In 1762 Empress Catherine II was the sole ruler of the Russian Empire, creating the most glittering court in Europe, and became the world’s greatest collector. From the arts to architecture and dazzling jewels, her craving for cultivating and accumulating the finest items formed the nucleus of the St. Petersburg Hermitage Museum. The unknown secrets of Catherine’s lust for art and her private passions will be revealed!

Andrew Prince’s consuming passion for jewels can be traced back to him swallowing one of his mother’s pearl earrings as a 3-year-old.  Andrew’s exquisite jewels have adorned celebrities including Michael Jackson, Miss Piggy, and the stars of Downton Abbey.  His entertaining and informative lectures on the history of jewellery and fashion have delighted audiences around the world.

The lectures will take place on Wednesday 5th February at the Espai la Senieta in Moraira at 11.00am (doors open at 10.15am) and at the Casa de Cultura in Plaça del Baix in the heart of the historic centre of Xàbia at 7.30pm (doors open at 6.45pm).

Both lectures are priced at 15 euros for guests but are free for members of The Arts Society and seats can be booked in advance by contacting the Arts Society by email at marinaalta@theartssociety.org or online here.
