The Arenal beach has been hosting selection tests for future lifeguards this past week, seeking the right people to join the Red Cross team that will be monitoring safety on the beaches across the province of Alicante.
In total, some 120 potential lifeguards attended and they were looked after by personnel from Red Cross Xàbia who organised the necessary infrastructure on the beach with three different and separated zones of assessment.
First, the candidates faced a personal interview before being assessed in a physical test that consisted of a swim in the central part of the beach before being required to pass a first and and CPR exam.
