Ainhoa Arteta closes Xàbia’s great musical weekend
The soprano will be performing on Tuesday 6th August in Plaza de la Constitución
The renowned Spanish soprano Ainhoa Arteta will be coming to Xàbia on Tuesday 6th August to close a great musical weekend in the town following the three big concerts of the Xàbia Jazz music festival.
The councillor responsible for Culture, Mavi Pérez (CPJ), explained that the concert, which will start at 10.30pm, serves as a culmination of “a great week of music in Xàbia” and will take place on the same stage as the Xàbia Jazz festival which takes place between August 3rd and August 5th. She emphasized that it is a “privilege” to have an artist of this renown in Xàbia and that the performance is “totally free” to attend, despite a cost of 27,000 euros.
The soprano will perform zarzuela and opera works by composers such as Puccini, Rossini, Mozart and the Spanish masters Manuel de Falla and José Serrano. She will be accompanied by the baritone Luis Santana and the pianist Víctor Carvajo.

Ainhoa Arteta is one of the most renowned sopranos in the world who began singing as a child since her father, José Ramón Arteta, was founder and director of the Coral Eresoinka. She moved to Italy at the age of 18 to be taught by Ettore Campogalliani, teacher of Luciano Pavarotti and Mirella Freni and later moved to New York where she continued her training at The Actor’s Studio.
Arteta has performed on many prestigious stages, including the Metropolitan Opera, Carnegie Hall, Covent Garden, Bayerische Staatsoper, Teatro Bellas Artes in Mexico, Musikverein in Vienna, La Scala in Milan, Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, San Carlo in Naples, L’Arena in Verona, Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf, Royal Opera House in London, Teatro Real in Madrid, Gran Teatro del Liceo in Barcelona, among others. She has also comfortably taken on the role of the main characters in operas such as La Traviata, La Bohème, Romeo et Juliette, Manon Lescaut, Tosca, Madame Butterfly, Adriana Lecouvreur, La Wally.
