AEMET issues Yellow Risk alert for Marina Alta for Wednesday and Thursday

The alert warns of the probability of heavy rain and thunderstorms in some places in our region.


The state meteorological agency AEMET has issued a YELLOW risk alert for the potential for heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms in the Marina Alta region on Wednesday 6th November and Thursday 7th November.

The alert is currently valid from 06:00 Wednesday 6th November until midday Thursday 7th November and warns of a 40%-70% probability of periods of heavy rain in some places with accumulation rates of 20mm per hour possible. These episodes could also be accompanied by thunderstorms.

A yellow risk alert means that there is no meteorological risk for the general population, although there is a risk for some specific activities and that those living in vulnerable areas or in areas directly exposed to the ‘Adverse Weather Phenomena (FMA) could suffer some impact. With this level of risk, AEMET recommends that the public remain alert and stay informed about the most up-to-date weather forecast and advises that some outdoor activities may be affected.
