Be prepared!

Home-owners are recommended to take a walk outside their property and take a look at the roof for missing tiles, etc., and secure outdoor furniture such as bins, barbecues, ladders, chairs, tables, etc. to prevent them from being blown into roads or through windows.

If you need to leave the house, allow extra time for travelling, don’t speed and be aware of side winds and any dangers that might be posed by debris blowing into the road. Be extra vigilant on exposed routes such as bridges and roads at higher elevations.
