The state meteorological agency AEMET has issued official warnings for very high temperatures over this weekend as the first real heatwave of the summer sweeps across much of Spain.
Although the most extreme temperatures are not expected to be felt in Xàbia, it has been advised to be prepared and the local council has already issued recommendations to follow over the next few days, including the importance of keeping hydrated and drinking water, even if you don’t feel thirsty and also keeping an eye on the more vulnerable members of the community, particularly the older generation.
It is also forecast that night-time temperatures are likely to be “uncomfortable” this weekend, with minimums not expected to fall much lower than 25°c, even here on the coast.
