The president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Ximo Puig, has appealed to the autonomous communities bordering the Comunidad Valenciana to “maintain prudence” and “work together” to “restrict movement as much as possible” during the Semana Santa and Easter holidays.

This has been stated by the head of the regional government, after holding a working meeting with the Minister of Universal Health and Public Health, Ana Barceló, confirming that the position of the Comunidad Valenciana is to maintain the current movement restrictions between the autonomous communities.

At the end of the meeting, the president explained that he had contacted the presidents of Aragon, Murcia, Castilla-La Mancha and Catalonia, as well as the president of the Balearic Islands, to agree on a joint position before the Interterritorial Council of the National Health System, which is being held today Wednesday.

The president acknowledged that the epidemiological situation “continues to improve“, as shown by the latest accumulated incidence data, which is below 100, but still “we are far from overcoming the pandemic“, for which he has demanded “joint responsibility “to the autonomous communities.

For the president, it is necessary to “consolidate on the improvement achieved“, which is why he has insisted on “not putting at risk” the efforts made by Valencian society so far and especially in recent weeks.
