VIRUS UPDATE: 1 outbreak detected in Xàbia, social in origin

829 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed through PCR or antigen tests; by province, the distribution of these new cases is 73 in Castellón, 409 in Valencia, and 347 in Alicante. In total, 376,052 positive cases have been recorded in the Comunidad Valenciana. There are currently 2 unassigned cases.

Outbreaks

There have been a total of 31 new outbreaks of the disease across the Comunidad Valenciana; by province, the distribution is 4 in Castellón, 20 in Valencia, and 7 in Alicante, 3 of which were detected in the Marina Alta.

• Beniarbeig: 1 outbreak – 9 cases (social)
• Teulada: 1 outbreak – 4 cases (social)
• Xàbia: 1 outbreak – 5 cases (social)

The origins of these new outbreaks in the Valencian region can be assigned as follows:

• 64% social
• 23% education
• 13% work

Active Cases

The data shows that there are currently 13,941 active cases of COVID-19 in the Comunidad Valenciana, with represents 3.60% of the total number of positives cases recorded.

Deaths

There have been 53 deaths from COVID-19, bringing the total for the Comunidad Valenciana to 6,490 people; by province, the distribution of the deaths is 744 Castellón, 3,308 Valencia, and 2,438 Alicante.

Hospitalization

There are 1,472 people currently in hospitals across the Comunidad Valenciana who are being treated for the COVID-19 infection; by province, the distribution is 141 Castellón with 20 patients in ICU, 707 Valencia with 185 in ICU, and 624 Alicante with 139 in ICU.

Recoveries

2,447 new recoveries from COVID-19 have been registered; in total, 367,102 people in the Comunidad Valenciana have overcome the disease since the pandemic began.

Vaccination

275,663 doses of the vaccination have been administered throughout the Comunidad Valenciana. A total of 99,821 people have completed the vaccination programme in our region.
