Spain has carried out more than 32.4 million tests since the start of the pandemic
In the last week, from February 12 to 18, a daily average of 142,470 diagnostic tests have been performed and of these, 86,107 are PCR.

Spain has performed more than 32.4 million diagnostic tests since the COVID-19 epidemic began. Specifically, the autonomous communities have notified the Ministry of Health that they have carried out a total of 32,400,867 diagnostic tests up to February 18th. Of these, 25,068,041 have been PCR and 7,332,826 have been antigen tests.
In the last week, from February 12 to 18, the autonomous communities have carried out a total of 602,755 PCR, an average of 86,107 PCR per day.
Furthermore, from February 12 to 18, the autonomous communities have carried out a total of 394,537 antigen tests (56,362 on average per day). Added to the PCR, a total of 997,292 diagnostic tests have been performed during this period, 142,470 per day. Thus, the number of diagnostic tests carried out increased by 3%, with a rate of 687.91 per 1,000 inhabitants.
New techniques are being developed for the diagnosis of the SARS-Cov2 infection, such as the rapid antigen tests that the health departments are beginning to introduce in the management of the pandemic.
