VIRUS UPDATE: Active cases drop below 40,000 for the first time since January 15th

2,205 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed through PCR or antigen tests; by province, the distribution of these new cases is 217 in Castellón, 1,266 in Valencia, and 772 in Alicante. In total, 360,649 positive cases have been recorded in the Comunidad Valenciana. There are currently 2 unassigned cases.

Outbreaks

There have been a total of 64 new outbreaks of the disease across the Comunidad Valenciana since the last update; by province, the distribution is 4 in Castellón, 32 in Valencia, and 28 in Alicante, none of which were in the Marina Alta region.

There have been 87 outbreaks of the coronavirus in the Marina Alta in 2021.

The origins of the new outbreaks in the Valencian region can be assigned 55% social, 36% education, 9% work.

Active Cases

The data shows that there are currently 37,387 active cases of COVID-19 in the Comunidad Valenciana, with represents 10.05% of the total number of positives cases recorded.

Deaths

There have been 91 deaths from COVID-19, bringing the total for the Comunidad Valenciana to 5,887 people; by province, the distribution of the deaths is 682 Castellón, 3,006 Valencia, and 2,199 Alicante.

Hospitalization

There are 2,598 people currently in hospitals across the Comunidad Valenciana who are being treated for the COVID-19 infection; by province, the distribution is 270 Castellón with 47 patients in ICU, 1,258 Valencia with 281 in ICU, and 1,070 Alicante with 202 in ICU.

Recoveries

6,757 new recoveries from COVID-19 have been registered; in total, 328,849 people in the Comunidad Valenciana have overcome the disease since the pandemic began.

Vaccination

216,885 doses of the vaccination have been administered throughout the Comunidad Valenciana. A total of 93,612 people have completed the vaccination programme in our region.
