Cycling team Lotto Soudal sets its base in the Parador de Jávea

The health crisis has not prevented cycling teams from starting their pre-season training in the Marina Alta. And, for the first time, one of the team has chosen Xàbia as its base.
The Belgian team Lotto Soudal, one of the World Teams of the ‘Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI)’, will be based at the Parador de Jávea in the Arenal zone. Amongst its riders are Steff Cras, Jasper de Buyst, Thomas de Gent, John Degenkolb, and Caleb Ewan, who holds the record for the youngest rider to win a stage of the Tour de France.
Along with Lotto Soudal, various cycling teams have made their bases in the region, although it is clear that the health crisis has left its mark. For example, the Hotel Marriot normally hosts several teams but this year there is only one, Trek Segafredo, featuring Vincenzo Nibali, winner of the Tour de France, the Giro d’Italia and the Vuelta a España.
In Calp, the Team Deceuninck-Quick Step, whose leader is cycling world champion Julian Alaphilippe, has returned for another year of pre-season training and he has recently published images of his rides of his social media networks.
