The Comunidad Valenciana led the growth of foreign tourism in Spain in February, recording a year-on-year increase of 15.2% in the number of foreign visitor arrivals and an 11.2% increase in tourist spending, thus exceeding the national average, which stood at 7.7% and 7.6%, respectively.

According to the results of the surveys published this Wednesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE) regarding Tourist Movements at the Border (FRONTUR) and the Tourist Expenditure Survey (EGATUR), the Comunidad Valenciana registered a total of 670,770 international tourists during the second month of the year, who spent a total of €887 million.

Looking at the cumulative figures for 2025, international tourists visiting the Comunidad Valenciana during the first two months of the year totaled 1,270,917, 6% more than the same period last year. They spent a total of €1.626 billion, representing a 4.9% increase.

The Regional Minister for Innovation, Industry, Trade, and Tourism, Marián Cano, welcomed these results, saying that “they confirm the relevance and positioning of the Comunidad Valenciana as a tourist destination“. She emphasized that “we will continue working on international promotion, both in established markets and in other emerging markets“.

Strengthening Promotion and Participation in Trade Fairs

Cano announced that Turisme CV has increased the funding allocated to tourism promotion and advertising which, she said, would allow for greater visibility of Valencia’s offerings in foreign markets, explaining that “the budget allocated to trade fairs and other promotional activities has increased by nearly 50%, with a greater presence at the main international fairs“.

She emphasized that “tourism in the Comunidad Valenciana is increasingly deseasonalized, more profitable, and of higher quality“, adding that the regional government “are also promoting different experiences through our ‘CreaTurisme’ program, where we promote off-season tourism and help companies showcase tourism resources and activities in a creative, respectful, and simultaneously competitive way.”
