II 10K Charity Open Swimming race will take place on December 8th
The event hopes to raise more than 4,000 euros for Cancer Care Jávea.
Xàbia Council has presented details of the Second 10k Cap de la Nao Open Sea Swimming Crossing, which will be held on Sunday 8th December in Xàbia. This event, which combines sport and fundraising, will allocate the funds raised through registrations and donations to the local association Cancer Care Jávea, reaffirming its commitment to the fight against cancer.
The councillor responsible for Sports, Toni Molina (PP), accompanied by the organisers Emilio Gómez and José Ramón García, encouraged both residents and visitors to take part in this sporting-fundraising day, either as participants or as spectators watching from various points along the coast.
The competition, which will start from Playa de la Grava at 9.00am and includes two modalities:
- 10 kilometres, the main event that will take swimmers from Playa de la Grava to Cala Blanca and back.
- 3,250 metres, designed for younger swimmers, aged between 15 and 17, provided they are members of a federation and have parental authorisation. The young swimmers will head to the Arenal beach before returning to the starting point.
Both events share the same starting and finishing point at Playa de la Grava, ensuring that all participants have a unique experience.
The spirit of charity is the driving force behind this journey, and the organisation hopes to exceed the more than 4,000 euros raised in the first edition.
With an expectation of more than 200 registrations, the registration period will remain open until 8.00pm on Saturday 7th December. In addition, the organisation has clarified that, although it is scheduled for Sunday 8th December, the water temperature is around 17 degrees, making it a good temperature for long-distance swimmers.
It is worth noting that the day will include complementary activities such as live music and a market organised by Cancer Care Jávea, which will be set up next to Playa de la Grava.
