AMJASA receives award for its commitment to sustainability and water management
The municipal water company is recognised as a pioneering company which has positioned Xàbia as a benchmark in water management.
The municipal water company AMJASA (Aguas Municipales de Xàbia S.A.), has been awarded the José Marsal Caballero prize in the category of the Pepe Miralles Regional Special Prize. This recognition distinguishes AMJASA, a 100% publicly-owned company, for being a benchmark in sustainability, respect for the environment and water management in the Marina Alta since its foundation in 1977. The company, a pioneer in optimisation and modernisation of water resources, has established itself as a model for other towns and cities.
The presentation of these prestigious awards will take place on Thursday 21 November, at 8.30pm in the auditorium of the Centro Social de Dénia in a ceremony that will bring together prominent personalities and representatives of the region. In addition to AMJASA, José Manuel Colio Pérez will receive awards in the Society category, Antonio Martínez Martí in the Environment category, the Falla Distrito Marítim Baix la Mar in Culture, the Restaurante Haiti in Tourism Promotion, Nataniel Grimalt Cortés in Sports, Jaume Bertomeu Catalán in Festivals, whilst the Premio Ciudad de Dénia for Overcoming will be awarded to Diana de Arias Far.
José Marcos Pons, councillor for water cycle, expressed his satisfaction on learning the jury’s decision, highlighting the role of AMJASA in the progress towards innovative water management. “This award is a recognition of the effort of a team that has made AMJASA a pioneering company, positioning Xàbia as a benchmark in water management”.
Mayor Rosa Cardona thanked the decision to award the recognition to AMJASA and congratulated all the members of the team. “AMJASA has a trained, committed and proactive team that has managed to turn the company into a benchmark for success. Xàbia is firmly involved in water management, and this recognition shows that we are moving in the right direction, prioritising sustainability and respect for the environment”.
With this prestigious award, AMJASA reaffirms its commitment to effective and sustainable management of water resources, contributing to the well-being of Xàbia and the development of the Marina Alta.
