National and regional holiday calendar confirmed for 2025
There will be 13 national and regional bank holiday plus two local holidays in Xàbia.
The Official State Gazette (BOE) has published details of the national and regional holiday calendar for 2025 and, in the case of the Comunidad Valenciana, there will be eight national bank holidays plus regional and local bank holidays, the latter selected by the municipal town halls.
The eight national bank holidays in 2025 will be:
- Wednesday 1st January – Año Nuevo (New Year’s Day)
- Friday 18th April – Viernes Santo (Good Friday)
- Thursday 1st May – Fiesta del Trabajo (May Day)
- Friday 15th August – Asunción de la Virgen (Assumption of Mary)
- Saturday 1st November – Todos Los Santos (All Saint’s Day)
- Saturday 6th December – Día de la Constitución Española (Spanish Constitution Day)
- Monday 8th December – Inmaculada Concepción (Immaculate Conception)
- Thursday 25th December – Natividad del Señor (Christmas Day)
October 12th – Fiesta Nacional de España – falls on a Sunday and whilst other autonomous communities have decided to carry over the bank holiday to the Monday, the Comunidad Valenciana has not opted to do so.
There will be five regional bank holidays in the Comunidad Valenciana:
- Monday 6th January – Epifanía del Señor (Three Kings)
- Wednesday 19th March – Día de San José (Saint Joseph – Father’s Day)
- Monday 21st April – Lunes de Pascua (Easter Monday)
- Tuesday 24th June – San Juan
- Thursday 9th October – Día de la Comunitat Valenciana (Valencian Day)
Although not yet confirmed, the local bank holidays are usually:
- Saturday 3rd May – La Subida del Jesús Nazareno
- Monday 8th September – Día de la Mare de Déu de Loreto
